Is -1 an option?

I usually rank things I do or things I want to do on a 1-to-10 scale. 

I have the option to go see a great band on Friday: 10 out of 10

I think I have a cavity: 0 out of 10

I am so bored of my current job: -1 out of 10. 

Ugh. I work for a consulting firm. I’m a Civil Engineer. I watch contractors work all day, cleaning and lining pipe in my hometown. I’ve been doing this now for 10 (non consecutive) months.

The day consists of:

  1. Water off
  2. Cutting pipe
  3. Cleaning
  4. Swabbing
  5. Camera-ing
  6. Lining
  7. Camera-ing
  8. Piece up pipe
  9. Water on
  10. Go home

This can take anywhere from 5-23 hours. Well, to be honest, it’s never taken them longer than 18.
